This cake was so yummy.. chocolates and cheese were such a GREAT Combo..huh..
They complements each other very very well.. lala la
like best friend forever... hihi
Plus..
Instead of baked it in the oven.. this was a steamed cake, made it so moist and rich.. puddingly like..
i already baked it twice.
First time, with a medium heat which only needs 10-12 minustes for each layer..
while
the Second time,
with a low heat, which need nearly 25-30 minutes for each layer.
I got high rised, fluffy, spongy cake by steaming with the low heat
while
with medium heat the cake was much more dense and moist.
Me and my mum absolutely prefer the first method..
Medium high steam, fast cook and get a moist and brownies like cake.
Yummmss
Definitely, we are not a spongy cake lovers.. haha
Try it..
Steam it with your preference end result ..:)
and don't forget to cover with foil on the cake while u steam it or else your cake's top will end up with curvy mountains on it..

I followed the recipe from Hana Kanazawa's Kitchen. Her's, of course were much much more presentable lah.. *shy Here's the link :)
And i copied for easier future reference.
Kek Lapis Kukus Cream Cheese
BAHAN A
- 250 gm cream cheese
- 60 gm gula halus - hana kurangkan 50g shj
- 1 biji telur
- 1 sudu besar air
- 1 sudu besar tpng gandum
- Pukul cream cheese bersama dngn gula hingga sebati.
- Masukkan telur diikuti dngn air dan tepung gandum. Pukul lagi dan gaul sebati.
- Biarkan sebentar.
- 2 biji telur
- 1 cwn gula halus
- 1 sk vanilla
- sedikit garam
- 1/2 cwn air panas didih
- 1/2 cwn cwn susu segar/cair
- 1/2 cwn minyak jagung/masak
- 1 cwn tpng gandum*
- 3 sudu besar sebuk koko*
- 1 sudu kecil baking soda*
- 1/2 sudu kecil baking powder*(* bahan2 perlu diayak dulu)
- Pkl telur didalam bekas lain bersama gula sehingga kembang.
- Setelah kembang masukkan vanilla dan garam.
- Masukkan air panas,susu dan minyak.
- Setelah itu masukkan tpng gandum,b.soda, b. powder dan serbuk koko yg telah diayak dan gaul sebati.
- Biarkan sebentar dan bahagi pada 2 bahagian. Bahagikan pada 2 bahagian.
- Panaskan kukusan dan balut dengan kain penutupnya. Guna api sederhana je.
- Sapukan sedikit minyak/mentega di sekeliling loyang dan alas dngn kertas minyak.
- Tuang adunan coklat, tutup loyang dngn aluminium foil dan kukus selama 15-20 minit.
- Buka aluminium foil dan tuang adunan cream cheese diatasnya, tutup semula guna aluminium foil dan kukus selama 15 minit.
- Setelah itu tuang lagi adunan coklat selebihnya, tutup lagi guna aluminium foil dan kukus lagi selama 20 minit.
- Setelah benar2 sejuk, boleh potong dan hidangkan.
